Racing for Maths!

On Wednesday 26th April, 2017, 39 year 7 students had the privilege of travelling to Epsom Horse Racecourse to discover the maths involved in Horse racing. Students visited the weighing room for Jockeys where they estimated their weights, checked the actual and compared them. Students had to apply the mathematical knowledge of estimation to do this task. Students then had to convert their weights from stones/pounds to kilograms. This exposed our students to real life use of unit conversions.
