House System
Our house system is designed to enrich the lives of our students, creating a sense of community belonging, equal opportunity and healthy competition within our Academy.
At Harris Academy Beckenham, we understand that our students' academy experience goes beyond the classroom and that memories are made through valuable experiences, events, and healthy competition. Therefore, our house system sits at the heart of our community and each student belongs to a House as part their tutor group.
Our House System is underpinned by the 4 R’s and two of our Core Character Traits:
- Ambition - a strand of Reflectiveness. Our house system offers students the opportunity to be House Captains. These Students are the pillars of our community reflecting their hardworking and responsible nature. They help promote and lead our events and competitions as well as becoming role models to our younger students.
- Courage - a strand of Resilience. Our House system is driven by a sense of healthy competition and encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. Our house competition calendar is full of exciting opportunities all of which are designed to encourage students to be courageous and discover just what they are capable of…from charity fundraising to sports day!
