Parent feedback on our Carol Concert I was hugely impressed with the quality of the performances at the HABE concert last night. The concert band were excellent by any measure - first class. The Yr7 choir, chamber choir and soloists were also incredible as was the Year 7 choir.

Scholars Programme Spring 2018

A very exciting and challenging opportunity has started for some of our Y9 and Y10 students: The Scholars Programme. Targeted at students who have demonstrated tremendous potential and high levels of academic attainment, this programme is led by a PhD researcher who comes to the Academy to deliver a ‘super-curricular’ teaching programme. As well as these seminars at the Academy, students will visit two Russell group universities to widen their knowledge and experience of Higher Education.

 

The course concludes with students producing an assignment which is then given a university-style grade (1st, 2:1) as well as one-to-one feedback with their tutor to allow them to reflect on and improve their performance.   

 

 We really look forward to seeing the work they produce and the students are eager to embark on this new programme!
