TEAM DEBATE MATE SUCCESS!
This year saw great improvement in our debating skills. With a mentor and several experienced members aiding the new recruits, our debating team were intent on conquering the Urban Debate League.
We won a phenomenal four of four debates in the Urban Debate League Round 2, however narrowly missed a chance to debate at House of Lords. Nonetheless, we were focused on doing our very best at the Debate Mate Cup last Thursday. After six tense and often close debates, we were victorious in an outstanding five of them, a result that has never been achieved before at Harris Academy Beckenham.
We are all immensely proud of our achievements and for those of us who are unable to participate next year, this is a brilliant way to finish a brilliant year.
Finally, on behalf of our entire team, I would like to thank our incredible teachers Ms Robinson and Ms Ebert, without whom none of this would have been possible.
