Y9 Rugby Federation Finals - The Results ...
On a cold Thursday afternoon on the 22nd November, the formidable Year 9 rugby squad won the Harris Federation tournament in heroic style!
After a shaky win against Harris Academy Boys East Dulwich, the team rallied together and played some masterfully structured and confidently dominant rugby to come top of the group stage. The team played incredibly well together demonstrating high quality rucking, passing and power in their preliminary matches. This set up for a cagey affair against Harris Academy South Norwood. In a low scoring head to head, the forwards rallied together and managed to break down a stout South Norwood defensive line to score the winning try with minutes left to play.
A stand out performance from Prince Maclean in not only the scrum but open play was crucial in ensuring the team went undefeated throughout the tournament. Angus Taylor led the team well from the front demonstrating a real sense of passion, commitment and resilience to ensuring the team lifted their second Federation tournament trophy in 3 years.
A truly triumphant victory! Well done Beckenham Rugby Squad!
