Rugby World Cup, What an Experience!
Match Report – New Zealand vs Namibia
I went to the Olympic Stadium on 24 September to see New Zealand All Blacks vs Namibia in the Rugby World Cup, the world Number one team and the team ranked bottom of the tournament. There were 51,820 people there and we were nine rows from the pitch. After the national anthems the All Blacks did "the Haka" a traditional dance and chant from Maori culture.
First half all the action was right in front of us. The All Blacks were always going to win (and might win the Cup) but Namibia tackled hard and managed to score a few points in the first half, a lot of them were from penalties though. My favourite try of the night was NZ’s Nehe Milner-Skudder who got his second try at 40 minutes by doing some side stepping down the line that was pretty cool.
There were ten tries in all and a lot of penalties but the crowd cheered loudest for the one Namibia try at 51 minutes when Johan Deysel, the centre, blasted two All Blacks as he forced his way over the line. The crowd went crazy!
I was seriously impressed with the All Blacks but Namibia didn’t let them win easily. I really enjoyed it, thank you HABE for the tickets!
