Bromley Minors Athletic Tournament
On Wednesday 8th June our year 7 and 8 girls athletics team took part in the Bromley Minors Athletics Meet at Norman Park. With their spikes at the ready, the girls running in the track events kick started the day brilliantly. HABE managed to secure a place in all finals due to fantastic performances in the heats. The bar was set high early on, but the girls competing in the field events took it in their stride and remained composed under pressure, earning the HABE team vital points. Congratulations to Georgia Lawrence who came first in the under 13’s high jump setting a new personal best of 1.35m.
The finals started with a bang as our very own Kadi Bryne crossed the line in first position for the under 12’s 100m. We also owe a big thank you to Millie Smith who stepped in at the last minute for the year 8 team in discus! Harris Academy Beckenham came 4th out of 16 teams in both under 12’s and under 13’s, the best result we have had to date beating all girl schools including our local Federation rival, Harris Bromley , and private schools such as Bromley High.
