Parent feedback on our Carol Concert I was hugely impressed with the quality of the performances at the HABE concert last night. The concert band were excellent by any measure - first class. The Yr7 choir, chamber choir and soloists were also incredible as was the Year 7 choir.

HABE - First Academy In the World to Receive the SENDIA (SEN Inclusion) Award

 

Harris Academy Beckenham are delighted to announce that we are the first school in the country to be awarded with the SENDIA (SEN Inclusion Award). In fact, as this is an international accolade, we are actually the first in the world! This is a testament to the commitment, hard work and innovative strategies deployed by all of our staff to ensure that the needs of our SEN learners are met. We have embedded quality first teaching across all of our classrooms so that all students benefit from excellence, but our forensic study of the specific needs of our SEN students, linked with the appropriate pedagogy, means that our SEN students can thrive. Our SEN team used their expertise so that our staff received exemplary training, and this has increased not only the academic outcomes of our SEN students, but the self-esteem, confidence and social skills. We look forward to further involving parents in our strategic work so that the learning skills we hone at the Academy can be transferred home.
